Fire on 6th Floor of Apartment in Ansan, Gyeonggi... Resident in 60s Dies

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] At around 2:04 AM on the 26th, a fire broke out on the 6th floor of a 15-story apartment building in Sangnok-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi Province.

Due to the fire, a woman in her 60s, identified as Ms. A, was found unconscious and collapsed inside her home on the 6th floor. She was transported to the hospital but passed away.

About 200 residents evacuated, and it is reported that none of them were injured.

Fire authorities, responding to the report, deployed around 10 pieces of equipment including pump trucks and about 40 personnel, and extinguished the fire completely by 3:15 AM, one hour later.

Fire authorities and police are investigating the exact cause of the fire, which is believed to have started inside Ms. A’s room.
