'Promise to Improve Educational Environment' and 'Support New Educational Programs'

[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Joo Gwang-deok, the mayor-elect of Namyangju City, identified key educational issues ahead of the start of his term.
On the previous day (23rd), Mayor-elect Joo visited local schools to hear requests for improvements in the educational environment, support for new educational programs desired by students and staff, and suggestions from parents.
Mayor-elect Joo stated, "Improving educational facilities is naturally necessary," and promised, "We will support programs and facility improvements to provide a solid stepping stone for the students' future."
He emphasized, "I will frequently visit schools in Namyangju to observe the educational field and collaborate with Lim Tae-hee, the elected Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, to open a new horizon for the development of education in Namyangju."
This school visit was part of Mayor-elect Joo's campaign promise to "visit again," and was undertaken to find solutions from the vivid voices on site and reflect them in the administration of the 8th local government.
Lee Cheol-woo, the transition committee chairman, and members of the Culture and Education Subcommittee attended Mayor-elect Joo's educational field visit.
As key pledges for 'Namyangju, a city of caring education,' Mayor-elect Joo proposed ▲ opening the Human Book library, a 1:1 mentor-mentee knowledge-sharing platform ▲ implementing the TOP-10 prestigious high school development project ▲ establishing the Restorative Justice Peace Center ▲ and founding the Jeong Yak-yong Academy Center for lifelong education tailored to all generations.
