Decoy, Mentioned Member of Parliament Baehyun Jin
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the 24th, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, stated, "Since they didn't bite the decoy, they have finally started shooting directly," adding, "I think I'll be drinking a bowl of soy sauce all next week."
On the same day, Lee posted on his Facebook page an article featuring an interview with People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won, who asked, "Is this really a party that supports the president?" along with his comment.
In the article, Lawmaker Jang criticized the ongoing conflict between Lee and Lawmaker Bae, saying, "Isn't the ruling party status granted because the president was elected?" and "What do you think the president would think when he sees this? It shouldn't be a burden," expressing his disapproval.
In response, Lee appears to have counterattacked. The "decoy" refers to a bird model used to lure prey, presumed to represent Lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin, who has recently been publicly clashing at the Supreme Council meetings, while "soy sauce" is thought to refer to Lawmakers Ahn Cheol-soo and Jang Je-won respectively.
Lee has effectively declared an all-out war against the pro-Yoon (pro-President Yoon Suk-yeol) faction. Lee is scheduled for an ethics committee review on the 7th of next month.
Earlier, Lee also appealed for support from his base, the 2030 generation, by posting on his Facebook page. He said, "If you want to contribute to innovation, the only way is to join as a party member," adding, "You can join online in 3 minutes, and with just 1,000 won a month, you can become the owner of the People Power Party."
