[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo) announced on the 24th that they signed a "Business Agreement for the Global Market Expansion of Small and Medium Venture Companies with Excellent Technology" at the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center in Mokdong, Seoul.
About 10 officials, including Kim Hak-do, Chairman of SBC, and Kim Jong-ho, Chairman of Kibo, attended the signing ceremony. This agreement was promoted to establish a support system for small and medium venture companies possessing technology and to activate collaborative projects between the two organizations.
Specifically, SBC will hold technology exchange consultation meetings targeting technology trust companies recommended by Kibo. They plan to activate technology exports by utilizing SBC's overseas organizations such as export incubators. Additionally, for technology trading companies, they will provide linked support for export support projects such as overseas technology exchange projects to back their overseas expansion.
Kibo will recommend excellent technology-holding small and medium enterprises, including technology trading and technology trust companies, to SBC, and support technology finance for companies wishing to expand overseas. Through performing the role of technology coordinator, they plan to activate overseas technology exchanges for small and medium venture companies.
Furthermore, through this agreement, the two organizations are expected to provide more comprehensive global expansion support to promising companies that possess excellent technology but face difficulties entering overseas markets by continuously sharing information on global markets and technology trends.
Kim Jong-ho, Chairman of Kibo, said, "It is meaningful that Kibo, which holds information on companies with excellent technology, and SBC, which has strengths in overseas networks, have come together to support the global market expansion of small and medium enterprises," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that this cooperation model can practically contribute to enhancing national innovation capabilities and the growth of small and medium enterprises."
Kim Hak-do, Chairman of SBC, stated, "Overseas technology exchange provides domestic companies with opportunities to enter new markets and allows local companies to strengthen competitiveness through technology adoption, creating a mutually beneficial business model," and added, "Taking this opportunity to strengthen collaboration between affiliated organizations under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, we will actively support the globalization of small and medium venture companies with excellent technology."
