[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Kim Do-hyung, the new Chief of Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, ordered that "Gangwon police should become diligent and harmonious."
On the 22nd, Kim Do-hyung stated this in his virtual inauguration speech, saying, "I consider it an infinite honor to come as the person responsible for public safety in my hometown where I was born and raised," and added, "I will carry out community-tailored policing activities together with the residents, with the banner of protecting human rights and caring for the socially vulnerable."
Kim, who is from Samcheok, graduated from Myeongryun High School in Gangneung and Gangwon National University with a degree in Public Administration, and entered the police force in 1994 as the 42nd class of executive candidates.
After being promoted to Superintendent in 2014, he served as the Head of Security and Traffic Division at Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, Chief of Hwacheon Police Station, and Planning Officer for Informatization Equipment at the National Police Agency.
In 2020, he was promoted to Senior Superintendent and served as Chief of Namdong Police Station in Incheon and Head of Traffic Guidance Department at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and was also dispatched to the 20th Presidential Transition Committee.
Meanwhile, Kim began his official duties on the morning of the same day by paying respects at the Gangwon Police Memorial Tower located in Sinmae-ri, Seomyeon, Chuncheon City.
