At the kickoff ceremony, volunteer representatives Park Du-woong and Song Hye-sook read the resolution, followed by a performance for the successful festival.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok, in his encouragement speech, said, "Although there are many difficulties as the event is held in the hot month of July, since it is being held in Pohang for the first time in 12 years, I hope that with the full passion of the volunteers, it will be a smooth and successful festival."
