Simultaneous On-site and Online Event in San Francisco, USA from June 27 to 30
Databricks, a data and AI company pioneering the data lakehouse paradigm, will hold its global data community event, the ‘Data+AI Summit 2022,’ both online and offline from June 27 to 30, local time in the United States.
Tens of thousands of data leaders, open-source advocates, Databricks customers, and partners worldwide will either attend the event in person at the San Francisco venue or join online to share advanced use cases and be the first to experience the latest product innovations and contributions to the open-source community.
Under the theme ‘Destination Lakehouse,’ this year’s event highlights the components of the modern data stack and focuses on product innovations that enable data managers to rapidly mobilize data assets to make better-informed decisions. Expectations are high as the in-person event resumes at the Moscone Center in San Francisco after three years, with many sessions selling out.
At the Data+AI Summit, Databricks co-founders and creators of Apache Spark and Delta Lake?Ali Ghodsi, Matei Zaharia, and Reynold Xin?will deliver keynote speeches. Additionally, renowned data and AI authorities, open-source pioneers, and visionary global thinkers such as Andrew Ng, co-founder of Google Brain & Coursera; Christopher Manning, NLP pioneer and director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab; Daphne Koller, AI pioneer and founder & CEO of Insitro; Hilary Mason, co-founder & CEO of Hidden Door; Peter Norvig, AI pioneer affiliated with Stanford, Google, and NASA; Tarika Barrett, CEO of Girls Who Code; and Zhamak Dehghani, founder of Data Mesh and director at ThoughtWorks, will participate as speakers.
This year’s Data+AI Summit features in-depth technical sessions and training, open-source community meetups and networking opportunities, and industry-specific breakout sessions. Attendees will gain actionable advanced use cases and powerful insights from data leaders of pioneering companies such as Adobe, Amgen, Intuit, John Deere, S&P Global, Walgreens, and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Events for Korean customers and partners will also be held locally in San Francisco. A welcome reception for customers and partners from Korea and the Asia-Pacific region will take place on June 27 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the InterContinental Hotel San Francisco, and the ‘Korean Customer Night’ hosted by Databricks Korea will be held at the San Francisco Seoul Garden on June 28 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. All Korean customers and partners are welcome to attend. Databricks Korea will also host an online webinar on August 24 to share key announcements from the Data+AI Summit with Korean customers and partners.
The ‘200+ technical sessions’ will introduce open-source technologies such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Apache Flink, PrestoDB, and dbt, tailored to various industries and technical levels.
The ‘Industry-Specific Content Tracks’ will delve into the power of data and AI in financial services, healthcare & life sciences, media & entertainment, public sector, and retail. These breakout forums offer industry-specific data and AI use cases, customer panel discussions, interactive demonstrations, and opportunities to meet peers and partners in the industry lounge.
The ‘Women in Data+AI’ panel discussion, moderated by Sol Rashidi, Chief Analytics Officer at Est?e Lauder, will focus on actionable ways to support organizations, community mentoring opportunities, and women’s technical education.
The ‘Expanded Onsite and Virtual Training Workshop Curriculum and New Certification Bundles’ allow attendees to choose from half-day or full-day classes tailored to specific roles or focus areas. The training covers everything from Apache Spark programming to ML model management on the Databricks Lakehouse.
‘Networking events for peer communication and collaboration’ include developer lounges, contributor meetups, university alliance gatherings, as well as partner networking events and evening receptions.
