Korea University of Energy and Defense University Join Hands for Academic Exchange and Mutual Development

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Korea Energy Engineering University and the Korea National Defense University have joined hands for mutual development through academic exchange.


According to Korea Energy Engineering University on the 22nd, the signing ceremony was attended by Korea Energy Engineering University President Yoon Eui-jun, Vice President for Academic Affairs Park Seong-ju, Director of Planning Han Sang-cheol, Director of Academic Affairs Kwak Jun-seop, Head of the Department of Energy Engineering Kim Kyung, Korea National Defense University President Jeong Hae-il, Professor Son Kyung-ho, Head of Faculty, Professor Baek Seung-ryeong, Director of Educational Planning, and Professor Lee Suk-yeon of the Department of Security Policy.


Founded in 1955, the Korea National Defense University is a comprehensive security education institution that produces experts in national security and defense fields such as security policy and defense management.


Through this memorandum of understanding, the two institutions plan to cooperate in areas including ▲ exchange of faculty and research personnel ▲ student exchange and mutual recognition of credits ▲ exchange of publications, books, educational materials, and information ▲ participation in research and academic conferences (seminars, etc.) and energy security education programs.


Jeong Hae-il, President of Korea National Defense University, said, “With the new security environment emerging due to the Ukraine-Russia war, it is necessary to prepare for energy security,” adding, “Through the memorandum of understanding with Korea Energy Engineering University, we expect to establish a foundation for the National Defense University to become a core institution in energy security alongside space security.”


Yoon Eui-jun, President of Korea Energy Engineering University, stated, “Taking this memorandum of understanding with the Korea National Defense University as an opportunity, we expect to enhance cooperation in the field of energy security, which has become increasingly important due to the Ukraine crisis, by mutually participating in energy security education programs.”
