Hamyang-gun Provides Emergency Living Support Fund to Alleviate Financial Burden for Low-Income Households... Starting June 27 Hamyang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will provide temporary emergency living support funds to low-income households starting from the 27th to alleviate the livelihood burden caused by recent rapid price increases and to enhance their consumption capacity.

The support targets are basic livelihood security recipients, legally designated near-poverty groups, and households holding single-parent family qualifications receiving child support as of May 29, and the funds will be provided via prepaid cards.

The support amount varies by benefit eligibility and household size: for basic livelihood security recipients ▶ those receiving livelihood and medical benefits will receive from 400,000 KRW for a single-person household up to 1,450,000 KRW for households with seven or more members ▶ those receiving housing and education benefits, legally designated near-poverty groups, and single-parent families will receive from 300,000 KRW for a single-person household up to 1,090,000 KRW for households with seven or more members. Beneficiaries in care facilities will receive 200,000 KRW per person in cash at the respective facility.

The prepaid cards can be collected from the local town or township offices of the registered address from June 27 to August 1 without a separate application, by presenting an ID card.

For seniors, persons with disabilities, or others who find it difficult to visit the town or township office, a proxy (legal representative or benefit manager) may collect the card by presenting their own and the beneficiary’s (principal’s) ID cards and seal (signature is acceptable).

For distribution of the temporary emergency living support prepaid cards for low-income households and further details, inquiries can be made at the local town or township office of the registered address.

A county official stated, “As this is a particularly difficult time for low-income households due to recent price increases, we hope that the ‘Temporary Emergency Living Support Fund for Low-Income Households’ provided this time will be of great help.”
