[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it is recruiting applicants for the second half of 2022 Return-to-Farming Agricultural Startup and Housing Purchase Support Project until the 14th of next month.
The Return-to-Farming Agricultural Startup and Housing Purchase Support Project is a program that provides low-interest loans to returnees to farming and non-agricultural residents in the village for agricultural startups and securing residential spaces.
The eligibility for the agricultural startup support project (such as establishing farming infrastructure, constructing food manufacturing and processing facilities) is household heads under the age of 65 who have continuously lived outside farming and fishing villages for more than one year and have moved into the county within five years, as well as non-agricultural residents living in rural areas who are not engaged in agriculture.
The eligibility for the housing purchase support project (including new construction, extension and remodeling, land purchase, etc.) is returnees to farming who have moved to Jangseong-gun from outside farming and fishing villages within five years, with no age restrictions.
If selected as a project beneficiary, up to 300 million KRW per household is supported for agricultural startups, and up to 75 million KRW for housing purchases.
The loan interest rate can be chosen between a fixed 2% per annum or a variable rate, with a repayment plan of 5 years grace period followed by 10 years of equal principal installments.
Applications can be submitted in person with the application form, business plan, and related documents to the Rural Vitality Division of the Agricultural Technology Center by the 14th of next month.
To apply for the project, it is mandatory to complete at least 100 hours of prior return-to-farming and farming education.
