[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Sempio announced on the 20th that researcher Choi Yoon-jung received a commendation from the Director of the National Institute of Technology and Standards, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, at the ‘2022 World Accreditation Day Ceremony.’
Researcher Choi Yoon-jung is the technical and quality manager of Sempio Foods Quality Assurance Center, which has been recognized as an internationally accredited testing institution by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS). She received this commendation for her significant contributions to the development of related industries and strengthening national competitiveness through highly reliable testing services, as well as actively sharing the importance of the accreditation system both inside and outside the company.
Sempio invests 4-5% of its annual sales in research and development (R&D) and has about 20% of its total employees engaged in research, focusing heavily on R&D capabilities. Sempio possesses core technologies that freely control the taste, aroma, and color of products using thousands of microbial strains, holds over 70 related patents, and has world-class technological capabilities, including developing new materials applicable to various business sectors based on fermentation technology accumulated over 76 years.
Researcher Choi Yoon-jung, who received the commendation this time, said, "I believe this World Accreditation Day commendation is thanks to the company’s unwavering support for research and development.
