The Topic is 'Protection Policies' as Discussed by Adolescents
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family will hold the 'Youth Online Policy Proposal Contest' from the 20th to July 31st to discover policy ideas reflecting the perspectives of youth.
The contest theme is 'Protection Policies as Told by Youth,' and policy ideas can be submitted on the Youth Participation Portal in areas such as youth labor, harmful environments and media, sexual protection, and crime and violence response. Eligibility includes individuals aged 9 to 24 or committees and clubs (groups) composed of five or more youths.
Policies proposed through the contest will be evaluated through public sympathy voting and expert review to select three outstanding proposals. Proposals receiving more than 50 votes in the public sympathy voting will be discussed as agenda items in the Youth Special Committee.
Proposals selected as final policy tasks for this year after discussions in the Youth Special Committee will be forwarded to relevant ministries for consideration of adoption. The results of the first-stage evaluation will be announced on August 3rd, and awards will be presented in December.
Last year’s contest included discussions on a total of 13 policy proposals that received more than 50 votes in the sympathy voting, including the grand prize-winning 'Support Measures for the High School Credit System to Bridge the Information Gap.'
