Imsil-gun Conducts Integrity Education Including Conflict of Interest Prevention Act

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] On the 17th, Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, conducted education on the Act on the Prevention of Conflict of Interest for Public Officials and anti-corruption integrity training for about 150 public officials, including high-ranking officials.

The training, held by inviting Kang Youngmi, a specialist instructor from the Anti-Corruption Training Institute of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, focused on anti-corruption education to facilitate the early establishment of the Act on the Prevention of Conflict of Interest, which was enacted on the 19th of last month.

The Act on the Prevention of Conflict of Interest applies when a public official faces a conflict between public interest and private interest during the performance of public duties.

Its purpose is to prevent situations that hinder or may hinder fair and honest job performance.

The training covered ▲ the legislative background of the Act on the Prevention of Conflict of Interest ▲ ten behavioral standards that public officials must comply with ▲ sanctions for violations, along with practical case-based education on conflict of interest situations that public officials may encounter during their work.

County Governor Shim Min said, "I hope this training will help employees perform their duties fairly and honestly in conflict of interest situations, and I ask for your cooperation in creating a public service society trusted by the residents."
