Geuinmo, Geochang County Governor, Visits Key Project Sites County Governor Gu In-mo's On-site Visit to Local Workplaces

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang County, conducted on-site visits to major project sites within the jurisdiction to prepare for a vigorous leap forward in the 8th term of the local government.

The site visits included ▲ Bbaejjae Forest Leisure Sports Park ▲ Elevator Industry Complex Building construction site ▲ Sports facilities within the 2nd Changpowon ▲ Anti-aging Healing Land Yongso restoration project site, focusing on listening to current issues and problems at each project site and discussing solutions.

The first site visited was the ‘Bbaejjae Forest Leisure Sports Park’ project located in Gaemyeong-ri, Goje-myeon, at the boundary of the Baekdudaegan mountain range. This site is expected to become the final hub connecting the east-west-north-south tourism belts. The progress of construction during the approximately two-month mayoral vacancy period due to the election was checked, and future plans were examined in detail.

Next, the elevator industry complex building construction project, which has been promoted since 2019 with the purpose of creating a global elevator hub city along with an elevator test tower, was visited. Despite various difficulties such as recent raw material price increases, cement production disruptions, and the Cargo Solidarity strike, it is expected to become a cradle for elevator-related education once completed in 2023.

The 2nd Changpowon project, covering an area of 140,000 pyeong and scheduled for completion in 2024, is also undergoing various administrative procedures. Through close consultations with related agencies, efforts are being made to ensure smooth progress. Regarding the sports facilities, continuous discussions with related agencies are underway to enable residents to use them as soon as possible.

The last site visited was the Anti-aging Healing Land, which has established itself as a landmark of Geochang. The Yongso, shaped like a Y-shaped suspension bridge, is being restored to provide new attractions.

After completing the site visits, Mayor Gu In-mo urged, “Since these projects involve significant budgets, I ask that the issues identified during these visits be carefully addressed and that all efforts be made to ensure high-quality project implementation.” He added, “Building on the efforts of the 7th term, the 8th term will create Geochang as a future city where everyone wants to live.”
