[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] The Green Jangseong 21 Promotion Council in Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam, announced on the 15th that it conducted environmental education for its members in celebration of World Environment Day.
A total of about 60 people attended the education, including more than 20 resident autonomy committee members from Jangseong-eup, Jinwon, and Nam-myeon, who have been interested in environmental issues.
This education was conducted under the theme "Smart Consumption for Carbon Neutrality" by inviting an external lecturer from the Jeonnam Climate Environment Network. After the education, attendees had a time to exchange opinions on carbon neutrality measures that can be practiced in daily life.
Im Kyung-taek, the standing chairman, said, "Through this education, we were able to learn easy ways to protect the environment," and added, "I hope a natural low-carbon practice culture takes root throughout the village."
The Green Jangseong 21 Promotion Council was launched in 1999 for the environmental preservation of Jangseong-gun and has been leading environmental protection by conducting environmental cleanup activities and energy-saving campaigns annually within the district.
