[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Hansome announced on the 15th that it is partnering with Finnish company Mifuko to launch the 'Raffia Basket Collection.' Mifuko is a company specializing in selling Nordic-designed baskets handmade by women artisans in rural Kenya, known as a fair trade company providing jobs and income to Kenyan women.
The Raffia Basket Collection consists of a total of nine handmade basket-shaped bags and will be introduced through six brands including Time, Mine, and Langbancollection. The representative products are the 'Time Basket Shopper Bag,' 'Langbancollection Kianda Basket Bag,' and 'Mine Kianda Basket Mini Bag.' The products will be sold at three nationwide concept stores operated by Hansome, 'The Hansome House' (Gwangju branch, Busan branch, Jeju branch), and the official online mall 'TheHansome.com.'
A Hansome official said, "In line with the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management trend among companies, conscious fashion is emerging as a trend in the fashion industry, so we have introduced products in collaboration with the fair trade company Mifuko. We will continue to introduce products that contribute to society and the environment to lead the domestic conscious fashion trend."
Hansome plans to donate 5% of the sales amount to 'Mifuko Trust,' a nonprofit charity operated by Mifuko.
