[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] CU announced on the 14th that starting from the 15th, it will launch the 10th product in the Deuktem series, Tissue Deuktem, which consists of various sizes of roll tissues and box tissues.
The newly introduced Tissue Deuktem includes five types: 2-pack roll tissues, 24-pack roll tissues, box tissues, 3-pack box tissues, and portable tissues. Compared to similar products currently sold by CU, these items are up to 40% cheaper, making them highly price-competitive and the lowest-priced products supplied through convenience store channels. For the 24-roll pack, the price per roll is under 400 won.
The roll tissues are made from 100% natural pulp with three layers, boasting a soft texture and excellent absorbency. Additionally, they are fragrance-free, fluorescent agent-free, and dye-free, allowing safe use without skin irritation.
CU’s Deuktem series has received positive responses from consumers. The Egg Deuktem (15-pack) ranked first in sales among all eggs last month, and both Kimchi Deuktem (1.9kg) and Milk Deuktem (1.8L) have recorded the highest sales volumes among products of the same size since their launch. The cumulative sales volume of the Deuktem series has reached 3 million units to date.
A BGF Retail official stated, “Reflecting the increasing number of customers seeking reasonably priced Deuktem series products amid ongoing price hikes, we have released tissues in various sizes, which are highly demanded by customers. We will continue to introduce Deuktem series products that meet customer demand to support their smart shopping.”
