[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] On the 11th, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, attracted attention by appearing at a book launch event held by former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Lee appeared near the end of the event. Attendees waiting to get an autograph from former lawmaker Yoo cheered when Lee showed up. From about an hour before the event started, men in their 20s and 30s had gathered, creating a bustling atmosphere.
Lee said, "The media today says it is the first anniversary of my inauguration, but more than that meaning, I am really glad to be here today with the people who overcame such difficult times together."
He continued, "The past year was a year in which I put in a lot of effort, but also a year full of regrets. For those here, it was probably a year with various regrets as well. There is always a cycle. When there is a regrettable year, there is also a happy year. At some point, the efforts you make are always rewarded. I am confident that if we continue to work toward the political changes you hope for and expect, we will see the light, and I will walk that path together with you."
