Worries About Soaring Prices Gone! ... Changwon City Provides 'Emergency Living Stability Support Fund for Low-Income Households'

Worries About Soaring Prices Gone! ... Changwon City Provides 'Emergency Living Stability Support Fund for Low-Income Households' Changwon City, Gyeongnam held a meeting for the emergency livelihood stabilization support fund payment project for low-income households.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, will provide emergency living stabilization support funds for low-income households.

The emergency living stabilization support fund is a project promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to support low-income households burdened by rapid price increases and to enhance their consumption capacity.

On the 10th, a meeting regarding the project was held in the city hall conference room, where officials from five district offices discussed the direction of the project.

Opinions were exchanged on pre-promotion plans such as sending notification letters to eligible households and introducing a day-of-the-week system to prevent congestion caused by concentrated visits to receive cards at specific times.

The support targets are households receiving basic living security benefits for livelihood, medical care, housing, and education as of May 29, the date of the supplementary budget approval by the National Assembly, households classified as legally second-lowest income class, and single-parent families receiving child-rearing expenses.

The city estimated that 35,187 households among citizens will be eligible for support.

The support amount will be provided differentially according to benefit eligibility and number of household members, with a one-time, temporary prepaid card ranging from a minimum of 300,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,450,000 KRW, and beneficiaries in care facilities will receive cash payments at the respective facilities.

Card distribution will begin on June 24, and eligible household members can visit the Eup, Myeon, or Dong administrative welfare centers with their ID cards without a separate application.

Kim Namhee, Director of the Social Welfare Division, said, "We hope this will help stabilize the livelihoods of low-income households struggling with rising prices."
