"We will strengthen the sustainable management system, including enhancing social contribution activities." Cho Hyun-joon, Chairman of Hyosung Group, urged employees to strengthen social contribution activities for vulnerable groups. This means actively carrying out support activities that help the lives of vulnerable groups, such as jobs and goods, to contribute to society.

First, major affiliates such as Hyosung TNC Co., Ltd., Hyosung Advanced Materials Co., Ltd., Hyosung Chemical Co., Ltd., and Hyosung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. recently joined the Red Cross Honours Club, a high-donation club of the Red Cross. After the holding company Hyosung joined the 10 Billion Club in February 2020, four affiliates were also selected as Honours Club members. This recognition was for their continuous efforts since 2005, including sponsoring the Korean Red Cross’s ‘Sharing Love Side Dishes’ program and employees’ blood donation campaigns.

In April, they donated a 1-ton truck to the Seoul Goodwill Store Eunpyeong branch as a replacement for an old vehicle. The existing truck used for collecting donated goods was also supported by Hyosung in 2013. Since 2013, Hyosung has invested about 700 million KRW to create jobs for people with disabilities. In partnership with the Together Foundation, they opened the Goodwill Store Eunpyeong branch. At the Eunpyeong branch, five people with severe disabilities and two North Korean defectors are engaged in sorting and selling donated goods. The group has donated more than 85,000 items to date.

They are also involved in donations for disabled children and support projects for youth rehabilitation treatment. On April 20, Disability Day, Hyosung donated funds to purchase wheelchair inner seats to ‘Yeongnak Ania’s House,’ a care facility for children with severe disabilities in Huam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Hyosung has been conducting social contribution activities at Yeongnak Ania’s House for 10 years since 2012.
