[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the third day of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) Cargo Solidarity's general strike on the 9th, President Yoon Suk-yeol warned, "Under no circumstances is it acceptable for people in a rule-of-law country to violate the law and commit acts of violence."
On the morning of the 9th, while heading to work at Yongsan, President Yoon responded to reporters' questions asking, "The Cargo Solidarity general strike is prolonging; are you considering other measures?" by saying, "Isn't the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport currently engaged in some dialogue? We are resolving what can be resolved through dialogue..."
Earlier, on the first day of the general strike on the 7th, President Yoon stated, "Whether it is unfair labor practices by employers or illegal acts by workers, I have declared since the election campaign that we will respond according to the law and principles."
