[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Hyundai Mobis announced on the 8th that it will hold a solo tech show event for two days starting on the 14th in France, demonstrating technologies to European automakers.
The tech show is an event where the company visits its automaker clients directly to showcase technologies. This time, the venue prepared is a motorsport track located on the outskirts of Paris. It is the first time domestically and internationally that a large-scale technology event is held by renting a track where actual races take place. About 200 purchasing and technical development executives and staff from major European makers Stellantis and Renault are expected to attend the event.
At this event, Hyundai Mobis plans to showcase a wide range of new technologies applicable to mass production. To demonstrate real vehicle performance, they will also conduct demonstrations by driving around the track. The prepared new technologies include a total of 27 types such as Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD) and grille lighting. These cover the company’s core areas of autonomous driving, electrification, and vehicle infotainment, while also considering local customer demand with strong interest in eco-friendly vehicles.
The company has been expanding its overseas customers mainly in the North American region. This event has a significant purpose of expanding its supply base to Europe. Europe has a deep tradition in the automotive industry, with strong local parts suppliers. Axel Maschka, Head of Global OE Sales Division at Hyundai Mobis, said, "We will expand orders focusing on new products that meet the needs of the European market customers and also carry out various technology marketing activities."
