Inducing Stay-Type Tourism by Linking Beautiful Nightscape Resources with Performances
[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] The Jeonnam Gangjin-gun Culture and Tourism Foundation will hold the nighttime tourism program poetic play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the World Peony Park until the end of October.
Starting from the 20th of last month, the Gangjin Night Dream poetic play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is Gangjin's representative nighttime tourism program that induces stay-type tourism by linking Gangjin's beautiful nightscape resources with performances.
The play features a total of five performances based on stories of Gangjin's representative poets Kim Young-rang and Kim Hyun-gu, the Buddhist monk Choi Ui-seon, and General Ma Cheon-mok, including "August 15, Eulyu Year," "Until the Peony Blooms," and "Any Day, Any Time."
In particular, visitors can enjoy a picnic performance while eating lunchboxes made with Gangjin specialties and drinking Gangjin's representative Makgeolli. The performers are all local residents of Gangjin who have received academy training, making it even more meaningful.
A tourist, Mr. Lee, said, "I didn't know the night view of Gangjin World Peony Park was this beautiful. It was enjoyable to watch an interesting performance while eating Gangjin lunchboxes and drinking Makgeolli," adding, "I'm glad to have learned about this great program and want to share it widely with others."
Meanwhile, the poetic play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will be held every Friday at the World Peony Park until October 28, except during the heatwave period.
CEO Kim Bada said, "I hope this will be an opportunity to gain a good, enjoyable, and meaningful experience through Gangjin's beautiful night scenery and high-quality poetic play performances," and added, "We will continue to strive to operate various programs utilizing Gangjin's cultural history, including performances with the residents."
