The California Almond Board is a non-profit organization representing over 7,600 growing farms and more than 100 processing companies located in the California region, responsible for over 80% of the world's almond production. Participating in the Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition for the third time this year, the California Almond Board will make active efforts to increase almond imports in the Korean market, which has the highest almond consumption among Asian countries, by providing food industry stakeholders with △nutritional information about almonds △introductions to almond suppliers △various information regarding domestic import and distribution.
Kim Min-jung, the Korea representative of the California Almond Board and a nationally certified nutritionist in the United States, said, "We are pleased to be able to meet face-to-face with consumers and industry professionals after the COVID-19 pandemic to share the nutritional benefits, beauty effects, and diverse uses of California almonds." She added, "The California Almond Board will actively participate in various events to understand food industry trends and the latest consumer trends and provide consumers with opportunities to directly experience California almonds through these events."
Meanwhile, almonds, loved for their various nutrients, savory taste, and rich texture, are a natural beauty snack beneficial not only for skin and hair health but also for weight management to maintain a toned body. A handful of almonds (about 23 almonds, 30g) contains 11 essential nutrients including vitamin E (7.3mg), dietary fiber (4g), plant-based protein (6g), and beneficial unsaturated fatty acids (15g). In particular, almonds are rich in alpha-tocopherol form of vitamin E, which corresponds to 67% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin E for Koreans, helping to prevent aging and promote healthy skin and hair.
