This Year’s New Urban Maintenance Orders Amount to 880.2 Billion KRW... Highest Urban Maintenance Orders Since 2018
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] SK Ecoplant announced on the 7th that it has simultaneously won the Pohang ‘Yongheung 4 District’ housing redevelopment maintenance project and the Daejeon ‘Beopdong 2 District’ reconstruction maintenance project.
SK Ecoplant was selected as the construction company for each project through the general meetings held on the 4th and 5th, respectively. The two project sites combined consist of a total of 1,527 households, with a total contract amount of 437.4 billion KRW.
The Pohang Yongheung 4 District redevelopment project is a development of apartments and auxiliary welfare facilities consisting of 6 buildings ranging from 3 basement floors to 39 above-ground floors, totaling 870 households, located in Yongheung-dong, Buk-gu, Pohang, Gyeongbuk. Located in the city center of Pohang, residents can access living infrastructure such as Buk-gu Office, Lotte Department Store, Lotte Cinema, and Songdo Beach. Nearby schools include Pohang Elementary, Daehung Middle, Dongji Middle, and Gyeongbuk Science High School. It is also advantageous that major transportation hubs such as KTX Pohang Station and Pohang Express Bus Terminal are accessible within 15 minutes by car. The total contract amount is 236.8 billion KRW.
The Daejeon Beopdong 2 District reconstruction project (Samjeong Heights Apartments) is a development of apartments and auxiliary welfare facilities consisting of 6 buildings ranging from 3 basement floors to 35 above-ground floors, totaling 657 households, located in Beopdong, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon. The Daejeon Metro Line 2 Dongbu Women and Family Center Station, located right next to the complex, is scheduled to open in 2027. The area is well-equipped with educational infrastructure, with nearby schools such as Jungri Elementary, Jungri Middle, Beopdong Middle, and Maebong Middle, as well as academies. Public institutions such as the Daejeon Government Complex and City Hall are also nearby. The total contract amount is 200.6 billion KRW.
Last month, SK Ecoplant successfully entered the remodeling market by winning the Incheon Bugae Jugong 3 Complex remodeling project in a consortium with Ssangyong Construction. Along with the reconstruction projects of Incheon Hyosung New Seoul Apartments and Sungui Hyundai Apartments in January, the recent wins of Yongheung 4 District and Beopdong 2 District bring this year’s total new urban maintenance project contract amount to 880.2 billion KRW. This amount surpasses the urban maintenance project contract performance of the past five years.
