[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is implementing the ‘Real Estate Brokerage Office Internet Self-Inspection System’ to respond to changes in real estate policies and to foster a sound real estate brokerage culture by preventing illegal activities in advance.
The self-inspection will target approximately 1,800 real estate brokerage offices in the district from June 7 to August 31.
Licensed real estate agents will complete the self-inspection checklist after identity verification through the ‘Real Estate Brokerage Office Self-Inspection’ menu on the Songpa-gu Office website. Those who have difficulty using the internet can also submit via fax or in writing.
The inspection items include 23 questions such as ▲whether the brokerage office registration certificate and licensed real estate agent certificates are posted ▲registration reports on employed licensed agents and brokerage assistants, office relocation, etc. ▲contract and brokerage object confirmation and explanation documents ▲amendments to the Licensed Real Estate Agent Act and the Act on Reporting Real Estate Transactions.
On-site inspections will be conducted for brokerage offices that do not participate in the self-inspection within the period, areas with frequent complaints, and other areas requiring inspection.
For inquiries, contact the Real Estate Information Division for guidance.
Songpa-gu Mayor Park Seong-su stated, “Moving away from the traditional visit inspection method, licensed real estate agents will self-diagnose to check their professional ethics and provide responsible and professional brokerage services to residents by complying with laws and regulations.”
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will hold the ‘2022 2nd Gwangnaru Academy’ on June 28 at 3 p.m. at the Naru Art Center Grand Theater.
The second lecture of this year’s Gwangnaru Academy, a humanities lecture program in Gwangjin-gu, will invite Park Jun-young, a retrial specialist lawyer who inspired the movie ‘Reexamination’ and the TV program ‘Fly, Gaechonyong.’
Attorney Park Jun-young will speak on the theme ‘Our Lawyers Speak of Hope,’ discussing the importance of human relationships based on trust in today’s society, where confrontation and conflict are intensifying.
This Gwangnaru Academy will return to its normal scale after being downsized due to COVID-19, and will be held with 500 residents at the Naru Art Center Grand Theater at 3 p.m. on June 28.
In addition, the lecture will be live-streamed simultaneously on Gwangjin-gu’s official YouTube channel, with replays available for one week from June 29 to July 5.
Residents wishing to attend in person can register online via the Gwangjin Lifelong Education Portal or by phone at the Gwangjin-gu Education Support Division; registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
An official said, “We hope this lecture will be an opportunity to build a better society based on trust in human relationships,” adding, “With the lifting of social distancing and the return to daily life, Gwangnaru Academy will continue to offer high-quality humanities lectures in various fields such as arts, economy, and history.”
In this regard, in the second half of the year, reflecting diverse resident demands, ‘Visiting Gwangnaru Academy’ will be additionally operated in idle spaces such as daily learning centers and learning hubs, offering residents lectures in various formats.
Meanwhile, Gwangjin-gu was designated as a new lifelong learning city in 2022 and is accelerating various lifelong education programs including ▲university-linked lifelong education ▲daily learning centers ▲learning hubs (Seoul neighborhood learning centers) ▲customized lifelong education by life cycle.
Jongno-gu is operating a variety of ‘Lifelong Education Programs’ starting this month to expand lifelong learning opportunities in daily life.
To satisfy residents’ thirst for learning across topics from ‘startups’ and ‘sustainable development’ to ‘history and culture,’ great effort was put into diversifying the programs.
First, from June 7 to July 26, the program ‘The World of Startups We Don’t Know’ will be held at Kingo Startup Space in Daehangno, aiming to nurture prospective entrepreneurs. In collaboration with Sungkyunkwan University Campus Town, the program covers the entire startup process including idea generation, business plan writing, marketing, and customer analysis.
In July, ‘Unjongga Debate School: Thought, Consciousness, and Life Transformation,’ which explores sustainability in society through discussions, and ‘#Glory Jongno: Cultural, Artistic, and Historical Exploration and Documentation,’ which explores and documents Jongno’s various historical and cultural resources, will be offered.
Starting July 5, the eight-week Unjongga Debate School will examine various classical texts and videos weekly, led by experts who facilitate classes and discussions. A documentary capturing students’ thoughts, consciousness, and life changes is also planned.
‘#Glory Jongno: Cultural, Artistic, and Historical Exploration and Documentation’ runs from July 7 to September 29, selecting a different theme (hashtag) each week to explore local sites, with students acting as creators producing records.
Details on program dates, locations, and lecture contents can be found on the Jongno Education Portal or by contacting the Jongno-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
Jongno-gu was newly selected as a ‘2022 Lifelong Learning City’ by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education in February. With the vision of ‘A Sustainable Education City Growing Together, TEAM Jongno,’ the district is investing resources to strengthen residents’ digital capabilities and develop lifelong learning models by region.
An official said, “We are dedicated to building a lifelong learning city foundation so residents can enjoy learning anytime, anywhere,” adding, “We have prepared various programs utilizing traditional culture and local resources and hope many interested people will participate.”
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the ‘2023 One-Stop Career and College Admission Fair’ both online and offline on July 8 at the Gangdong Art Center.
This is the first offline fair in three years, designed to provide practical help to students and parents who have had difficulty obtaining college entrance information due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic in deciding their 2023 admission strategies.
The fair will address questions about education from middle school to high school students in one place, including a ‘2023 College Admission Strategy Briefing’ and 1:1 customized counseling related to universities, admissions, and majors.
At the Gangdong Art Center Grand Theater, the ‘2023 College Admission Strategy Briefing’ will feature Park Kwon-woo, author of the college admission bible ‘Eat Watermelon and Go to College’ and a top public education admissions expert, delivering a lecture on overall college admission strategies.
For students and parents unable to attend in person, a live lecture will be provided via the integrated education portal ‘Gangdong Mirae On (On).’ However, this is limited to those who register in advance.
After attending the briefing, participants can receive one-on-one customized counseling on-site.
At Studio #1 of the Gangdong Art Center, counseling will be available from admissions officers of 14 major universities, as well as admissions counselors from the Seoul Admission Guidance Council and high school counselors specialized by school type (general high schools, specialized high schools, autonomous private high schools, vocational high schools). In the first-floor lobby, university student mentors from about 20 departments will provide major counseling for middle and high school students struggling with major selection.
A Gangdong-gu official said, “We hope this one-stop career and college admission fair will help bridge the education information gap experienced by students and parents,” adding, “We plan to continue providing timely customized admission information to support parents.”
