Jangseong-gun Holds Communication Meeting with Young Farmers


[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] On the 2nd, Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do held a meeting with 22 recipients of this year's Young Successor Farmer Settlement Support Project.


According to the county on the 3rd, the Young Successor Farmer Settlement Support Project is a program that supports early-stage farmers aged 18 to 39 with less than three years of independent farming experience.


Selected recipients receive a monthly farming settlement support fund of up to 1 million KRW for up to three years.


They can also receive support for start-up funds, technical education, and expert consulting.


During the meeting, education on the obligations of project participants and overall project details was conducted.


Following this, a discussion session was held to enhance understanding of the project.


In particular, attendees responded positively to useful information provided by Team Leader Park In-gu of the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services regarding the direction of fostering young farmers.


A county official stated, “We will continue to actively support young farmers by maintaining ongoing communication to resolve difficulties and help them settle in farming early.”


Meanwhile, the county is promoting various support projects targeting young farmers, such as the ‘2040 Generation Young Farmer Fostering Project,’ and since 2018, a total of 90 young successor farmers have been selected and supported.
