Gokseong-gun Supports Increased Cost of Tax-Exempt Agricultural Fuel

- Reduction of Agricultural Management Cost Burden Due to Rising Oil Prices

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jongseon] Gokseong-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 3rd that it will support part of the increase in duty-free fuel prices to alleviate the burden of rising fuel costs on farmers.

The recent rise in fuel prices has significantly impacted agriculture.

As the price of duty-free fuel for agricultural use has also increased, the production costs of agricultural products have risen, increasing the burden on farming households, which ultimately reflects on the prices at the dining table, leading to higher consumer costs.

Accordingly, Gokseong-gun plans to support a certain amount of the increased portion of duty-free fuel used by farmers from March 1 to June 30 of this year.

The support for the increase in duty-free fuel prices targets local farmers and agricultural corporations who have obtained a duty-free fuel purchase card from the Nonghyup (National Agricultural Cooperative Federation).

To receive support, applicants must submit the application form for the agricultural duty-free fuel purchase cost support project and the consent form for personal (credit) information inquiry to the local Nonghyup by June 30.

Gokseong-gun will review each applicant’s duty-free fuel supply performance and eligibility, and provide support for gasoline or diesel purchased using the duty-free fuel purchase card.

The support amount is 183 KRW per liter, and the support volume will be determined according to the allocated amount of duty-free fuel used from March 1 to June 30 this year.

An official from the county stated, “Since the burden on farming households is very high, we have secured a budget of 305 million KRW as a preliminary budget and reserve fund to promptly provide support.”
