[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who succeeded in his bid for a fourth term as Seoul mayor in the June 1 local elections, returned to office after 20 days and stated, "I feel a heavier sense of responsibility and seriousness than ever before," adding, "I will definitely keep the promises I made, including the commitment to create a Seoul that walks with the vulnerable, for the next four years."
On the 2nd, Mayor Oh arrived at the main gate of Seoul City Hall at 8:50 a.m., greeted Seoul city executives and staff, and shared his thoughts. He said, "During this election period, I have deeply engraved all the stories and words given by the citizens in my heart, and now I will return to work," emphasizing, "I will definitely keep the promises I made, including the commitment to create a special city that walks with the vulnerable, for the next four years."
He also added to the Seoul city executives and staff, "Over the next four years, I hope you will join hands with me and do your best to carefully manage each of the visions we set ourselves: Vision 2030, walking with the vulnerable, a city of coexistence, a global leading city, a healthy and safe city, and the creation of urban spaces that citizens can use comfortably."
On the same day, after receiving a report on pending tasks from Jo In-dong, the Administrative Deputy Mayor who acted as mayor during his absence, in his office in the morning, Mayor Oh plans to hold a luncheon meeting with key officials from departments responsible for major campaign promises to create a communication platform. At 2 p.m., he will also preside over the "Summer Safety Measures Meeting" at the City Hall Planning Situation Room to prepare for the upcoming summer heatwave.
At the Summer Safety Measures Meeting, Mayor Oh intends to review overall measures for citizen safety during the summer, ranging from protection plans for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, residents of small rooms, and homeless people, to heatwave reduction, food poisoning prevention, and safety accident prevention in Hangang Park.
Meanwhile, Mayor Oh, who became the first ever to be elected as Seoul mayor for a fourth term, will begin his 39th term as Seoul mayor on July 1.
