Jeonnam Education Superintendent Candidate Kim Dae-jung 'Election Confirmed'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The election of candidate Kim Dae-jung as the 4th term Jeonnam Superintendent of Education is virtually confirmed.

As of 11:59 PM on the 1st, with 41.76% of votes counted, candidate Kim secured 45.80%, leading candidate Jang Seok-woong who obtained 36.65%, effectively confirming his victory.

Candidate Kim Dae-jung took first place with 165,005 votes, surpassing candidate Jang Seok-woong who received 132,052 votes.

Before the vote counting began, at 7:30 PM on the same day, exit polls announced by the three broadcasters KBS, MBC, and SBS predicted that candidate Kim would receive 43.5% and candidate Jang 39.9% of the votes.
