Bflysoft, the only media big data platform company in Korea, announced that it will actively promote the monetization and ecosystem construction of Rozeus.


Bflysoft plans to actively utilize Rozeus, its B2C platform, as it sees the usage trends of the MZ generation to be similar to the new media ecosystem of Rozeus.


The millennial generation, called the MZ generation, does not simply view platforms as a means of obtaining information. The term "app-tech," a combination of application and finance, explains this situation well.


According to market research firm Embrain, as of last May, 39.2% of 1,000 office workers are managing their finances through app-tech. It ranks third after savings/deposit subscriptions (77.8%) and stock investments (59.8%). It is higher than funds/ETFs (25.9%), real estate (18.8%), and cryptocurrencies (18.5%). Especially among the MZ generation, one out of two people use app-tech.


A Bflysoft official stated, “From the initial design of Rozeus, the goal was to create a system where various stakeholders in the media industry can measure content consumption reliably, transparently settle and distribute revenue, and fairly share profits through increasing content value. It was designed not only for platform operators to earn money but also for content creators and users and participants who add value to the content to generate revenue.”


He added, “We plan to provide all participants using Rozeus with various rewards from the platform’s generated revenue, giving users a purpose to participate in the platform. Since the MZ generation is not satisfied with simply obtaining information, we will establish an ecosystem where they can earn diverse income without investing much time through daily news, favorite content, or diary-like content they write.”


Since its launch, Rozeus has grown over 200% monthly and currently has more than 4 million average monthly unique visitors. This is the fastest growth rate comparable to China’s news media platform “Jinri Toutiao,” which has an annual revenue of 2 trillion KRW and a market capitalization of 30 trillion KRW.


Additionally, to fully monetize in the second half of the year, Rozeus has completed media alliance and related design work, finalized various business partnerships with media associations and specialized content providers by sector, and plans to release new features such as “Smart Newsroom,” “Talk Live,” and “Data Lab” to enhance user experience.


Rozeus is currently preparing additional businesses for content distribution and value enhancement based on traffic, besides advertising, and is reportedly progressing smoothly.


In Q1 2022, Bflysoft’s revenue increased by 10% year-on-year to 3.7 billion KRW, and subscription service revenue had already secured 15.6 billion KRW as of the end of April, with profitability expected within the year.


Bflysoft is currently listed on KOSDAQ’s KONEX market and recently passed the preliminary review for KOSDAQ listing. It has started the public offering process, with demand forecasting scheduled for June 2-3 and general subscription on June 9-10. The lead underwriter is IBK Investment & Securities.
