[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Korea Philip Morris announced on the 30th that it sponsored the independent film event ‘Deulkot Film Festival’ to support the culture and arts sector.
The Deulkot Film Festival is an event that reexamines low-budget independent films produced domestically throughout the year and encourages independent filmmakers who continue their activities in challenging environments. Korea Philip Morris has sponsored the Deulkot Film Festival for three consecutive years since 2020 as part of its cultural and artistic support projects.
This year’s Deulkot Film Festival was held at the Chungmu Art Center in Seoul from the 6th to the 22nd, where over 20 independent film works met with audiences, and an awards ceremony was held on the 27th.
At the awards ceremony, Kim Ki-hwa, Executive Director of Korea Philip Morris, who presented the honorary award, said, “It is an honor to be able to encounter excellent independent film works through this sponsorship of the Deulkot Film Festival,” adding, “We send our support and applause to the efforts of independent filmmakers who create outstanding works despite difficult circumstances.”
