[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Junho] Chungjang-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City recently announced on the 29th that it held a sharing event of love-filled young radish kimchi for neighbors in need of care.
This event, now in its second year, was sponsored by the local food manufacturer Haetchaewon. The Chungjang-dong Community Security Council and the Gyerim 1-dong Community Security Council participated.
On this day, 100 containers of young radish kimchi donated by Haetchaewon will be delivered to neighbors in need residing in Chungjang-dong and Gyerim 1-dong.
In particular, households with mobility difficulties or poor living conditions, making it hard to prepare meals, will be prioritized as support recipients.
CEO Kim Jae-woong said, “Although it is not grand, I feel rewarded to be able to express our hearts to neighbors in need in the district through seasonal kimchi sharing every year,” and added, “I hope neighbors overcome the hot summer healthily by eating young radish kimchi, one of the summer delicacies.”
Chungjang-dong Mayor Lim Kyung-sook said, “I am grateful to Haetchaewon for faithfully practicing the virtue of sharing for neighbors in need without fail again this year,” and stated, “I hope everyone gains strength by eating the nutritious young radish kimchi full of sincerity during the summer when appetites are low.”
