Ministry of SMEs and Startups Opens Applications for Talent Development SME Designation... Over 280 Companies Selected

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will begin recruiting participating companies from the 30th for designation as talent development-oriented small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in 2022.

This system aims to discover excellent companies that grow together with their employees by investing in talent to improve corporate productivity and profitability and sharing the results with employees. Since 2014, the Ministry has designated a total of 1,889 companies as talent development-oriented SMEs up to last year.

This year, around 280 companies will be selected in September after document and on-site evaluations in July and August. Eligible applicants are all SMEs except those in industries such as entertainment bars, according to Article 3 of the Special Act on Support for SME Workforce.

Companies can apply directly through the SME Workforce Support Project Integrated Management System by the 24th of next month, and anyone can recommend companies online.

Companies for on-site evaluation will be selected based on sales growth rate, return on total assets, and other criteria. The on-site evaluation assesses the company's commitment to talent development and training infrastructure through interviews with management, among other methods.

Selected companies will receive a certificate of designation and a plaque. Job information of these companies will be provided on dedicated recruitment pages within Worknet, JobKorea, and the Corporate Workforce Difficulty Center, and benefits such as additional points will be given when participating in Ministry-supported projects.

For more details, please check the Ministry of SMEs and Startups website, the SME Workforce Support Project Integrated Management System, or the Corporate Madang platform.
