[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] As of 9 a.m., the cumulative early voting rate in the Daegu area for the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections is 8.21%, ranking the lowest nationwide.


According to the National Election Commission, as of 9 a.m. on the second day of early voting for the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections on the 28th, 16,7911 out of 2,044,579 registered voters cast their precious votes at 142 early voting stations in Daegu, recording an early voting rate of 8.21%. This is lower than the national average of 11.81%.


The early voting rates in Daegu's 8 districts and counties were tallied as follows: Jung-gu 8.84%, Dong-gu 8.56%, Seo-gu 10.00%, Nam-gu 8.64%, Buk-gu 8.13%, Suseong-gu 9.04%, Dalseo-gu 7.34%, and Dalseong-gun 6.72%.


The cumulative number of early voters including the first day is 158,366, with a cumulative early voting rate of 7.75%.


Early voting is possible anywhere if you bring a photo ID issued by a public institution such as a resident registration card or youth ID (including mobile ID). General voters can vote from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.


COVID-19 confirmed patients and those in quarantine can vote from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and in addition to an ID, they must bring the ‘confirmed patient voting guidance text message’ or similar documentation.
