[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] As social distancing measures are lifted, more people are enjoying picnics and camping, leading to increased interest in foods that are ideal for outdoor enjoyment. The dining industry is actively introducing menus to attract outing customers.
According to the industry on the 29th, Pizza Alvolo recently reintroduced the popular menu item, 'Corn Pizza.'
Corn Pizza features chewy whole corn, soft sweet potatoes, and tangy pineapple, combining the popping texture of corn with a sweet and smooth flavor. In particular, Pizza Alvolo’s signature black rice dough is made by fermenting eco-friendly black rice from Jindo at low temperature for 72 hours, making it mild and suitable as a picnic menu enjoyed by all age groups.
McDonald's launched the 'Legoland Together Pack' for outing customers to enjoy a hearty meal. The Legoland Together Pack includes a Big Mac, Bacon Tomato Deluxe, French fries, and drinks, all packaged in a Legoland-exclusive package.
Additionally, it comes with a 100% winning scratch card offering various prizes such as Legoland admission tickets, hotel accommodation vouchers, Lego exchange coupons, and burger and drink exchange coupons, adding to the fun.
Chicken, a representative outing menu, is also targeting outing groups with differentiated menus. Kkanbu Chicken introduced a new menu called 'Hotteok Chicken,' reflecting the concept of the popular snack Hotteok and the Halmenial trend. Hotteok Chicken combines tender chicken tenderloin and chewy rice cakes with Hotteok sauce, and the pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds in the sauce enhance the texture of Hotteok Chicken.
An industry official said, “With social distancing lifted and the weather mild, the industry is actively targeting picnic customers. Especially, there is a trend to focus on family picnic customers by offering menus that can be enjoyed by various age groups.”
