Foundation work begins in June
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Photos of Samsung Electronics' factory site in Taylor, Texas, USA, which is about to begin construction, have been released. Construction is imminent, and foundation work is scheduled to start next month.
According to industry sources on the 27th, Samsung Electronics' Austin subsidiary recently shared the progress and photos of the Taylor foundry factory construction through a newsletter.
The Taylor foundry factory, with an investment of $17 billion (approximately 21 trillion KRW), is currently nearly finished with land leveling, and internal road and parking lot paving work is underway. Workers are also installing security fences around the factory.
Foundation and underground installation work are expected to begin next month. The website related to the Samsung Taylor foundry factory has already been open since last week.
However, Samsung Electronics has not yet finalized the schedule for the groundbreaking ceremony related to the Taylor factory.
The Taylor factory is planned to begin construction aiming for operation in the second half of 2024. Advanced system semiconductor products in fields such as 5G, HPC (High-Performance Computing), and AI (Artificial Intelligence) are expected to be produced at the new factory.
