[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Wemade announced on the 27th that it has made a strategic investment in Envisible, a metaverse-specialized development company.
Envisible is an interactive content-specialized startup founded in 2014 by CEO Hyunwoo Bang, a former professor at Seoul National University College of Engineering, and co-CEO Yunsil Heo, a media artist. It is a content-specialized company.
Wemade explained that this investment is a strategic move to expand the WEMIX platform ecosystem and metaverse business, decided after comprehensively evaluating the growth potential and innovativeness of the new business Envisible is preparing.
Recently, Envisible has begun building a metaverse content environment capable of diagnosing, developing, and further enabling digital prevention, management, and treatment of mental health through observation of children's physical activities and play, based on accumulated data.
Going forward, Envisible aims to develop groundbreaking 'Digital Therapeutic Experience (DTX)' for three major disorders threatening children's mental health: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), targeting FDA approval within three years. Through this, they plan to treat delays in healthy physical, cognitive, and social development in children and support healthy growth.
Envisible's DTX business will play a crucial role in building the metaverse platform of WEMIX 3.0, which aims to be a gaming platform, NFT platform, and metaverse platform. Wemade is accelerating platform development, having also invested last year in global metaverse service developers 'Metascale' and 'Frenkly.'
This year, Wemade is pursuing aggressive investments and extensive blockchain businesses, aiming to build a sustainable ecosystem through the 'WEMIX 3.0' strategy that can be applied beyond gaming to various fields such as sports and entertainment.
Hyunwoo Bang, CEO of Envisible, said, “Wemade is a company that boldly pursues innovation and experimentation at the forefront of future industries, making it the most ideal partner for Envisible’s new business development.” He added, “I am confident that combining Wemade’s solid development capabilities with Envisible’s execution power will yield successful results in the digital healthcare field.”
Hyunguk Jang, CEO of Wemade, stated, “Wemade will transform into a platform equipped with everything, including the utility coin WEMIX, 100% fully collateralized stablecoin WEMIX Dollar, and mainnet WEMIX 3.0, integrating games, DAO-linked NFTs, and DeFi.” He added, “Games that voluntarily provide enjoyable experiences are the most suitable way to improve and maintain children’s mental health.”
