[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jung-wan] Shin Pyeong, a lawyer who was part of Moon Jae-in's camp during the 19th presidential election and recently publicly declared support for President Yoon Seok-yeol, stated on the 26th that he believes "Chairman Park Ji-hyun's perspective accurately penetrates our reality" regarding Park Ji-hyun, co-chair of the Democratic Party's Emergency Response Committee, who recently brought up the cards of "586 generation retirement" and "overcoming fandom politics."
On the same day, Shin posted on his social media (SNS) under the title "Cheering for Democratic Party's Park Ji-hyun, Emergency Response Committee Chair," saying, "By raising issues of discrimination and hatred against women, he is doing his utmost to voice claims aimed at overcoming discrimination and hatred against minorities throughout society."
He added, "He will soon be pushed out in the internal power struggle within the Democratic Party," and "However, I believe this failure will directly lead to a fruitful success in the not-so-distant future. I sincerely wish him the best of luck."
Shin argued, "Chairman Park's claims are by no means ostentatious when viewed against the deeply rooted and unfortunate realities of gender discrimination and female oppression in our society," and "That much shows he is courageously carrying out a difficult and lonely struggle."
He wrote, "After reading two posts by Professor Cho Gi-sook of Ewha Womans University about Chairman Park, I was fully awakened," and "Chairman Park is said to have played a decisive role in the arrest of the notorious Nth Room masterminds, a malignant tumor in our society. Through this difficult process, as they were arrested and tried, our society's awareness of sexuality has been tremendously elevated."
He continued, "Chairman Park is currently engaged in a tough struggle with the existing leadership of the Democratic Party. The main point of conflict between him and the leadership is largely condensed into the retirement of 586 politicians and the investigation of sexual scandals," and "However, he is pressuring the Democratic Party by presenting issues that go beyond these specific problems."
Shin stated, "The key issue is the 'end of discrimination and hatred,' and at its core is the application of the constitutional principle of equality to power minorities such as women," and "Why does he bring up these issues, causing unnecessary turmoil and severely eroding his political vitality? If he had not firmly staked his political life on this matter, he would never act this way."
