[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A woman in her 40s was arrested by the police after hitting her ex-husband with a vehicle during a dispute over child custody following their divorce.
Incheon Western Police Station announced on the 27th that they have arrested and are investigating Ms. A (47) on charges of attempted murder and obstruction of official duties.
According to the police, Ms. A allegedly hit her ex-husband with her car and then crashed into a utility pole around 10 p.m. the previous day on a street in Wondang-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, following an argument over child-rearing issues.
She is also accused of assaulting police officers who arrived at the scene after receiving a report.
The police arrested Ms. A in the act and transported the victim, her ex-husband, to the hospital.
A police official stated, "It appears that Ms. A drove with the intent to kill," adding, "We plan to investigate the exact circumstances and motive behind the incident."
