Gwangyang Police Quickly Rescue Missing Elementary Student with Epilepsy

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The police quickly found an elementary school student suffering from epilepsy and returned him safely to his family.

According to the Gwangyang Police Station in Jeonnam on the 26th, a report was received around 9:30 a.m. that a 6th-grade elementary school boy with epilepsy was unreachable after going to school.

Upon receiving the report, the police secured the student's description and photo, immediately relayed the information to nearby patrol cars and the 112 control center, and within about 10 minutes, found the elementary student wandering near the school. They confirmed that there was no harm and handed him over to his family.

Sergeant Nowon Yong and Police Officer Kim Jinmo of the Jungma District Unit who responded said, "Since the student suffers from epilepsy and not much time had passed since he went to school, we judged that he could not have gone far, so we thoroughly checked the area around the elementary school. We are really relieved to have found the student quickly."

The Gwangyang police stated, "We will continue to strive to protect socially vulnerable groups such as women and the disabled, and always prioritize the safety of citizens as the Gwangyang police."
