Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, First Public Institution to Achieve 'AEO' AA Rating

[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power announced on the 26th that it has obtained the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) AA grade from the Korea Customs Service. Since the introduction of the AEO system in 2008, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power is the first public institution to receive the AA grade.

The AEO is an internationally recognized certification system in which the Korea Customs Service comprehensively evaluates the management capabilities of import and export goods in compliance with laws, financial soundness, and safety management based on the World Customs Organization (WCO)'s supply chain security standards.

Companies certified with AEO receive customs administrative benefits such as expedited customs clearance and exemption from customs inspections both domestically and internationally.

Previously, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power was the first public institution to obtain AEO certification in 2019. Since then, it has been evaluated to have achieved an upgrade from grade A to AA through continuous maintenance of internal control systems and reinforcement of safety-related facilities.

Jaehoon Jung, President of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, stated, “We will strengthen support for AEO certification acquisition for cooperating small and medium enterprises currently in progress and become a model public institution fulfilling social responsibility.”
