National Library for Persons with Disabilities, Reading Reflection Contest for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities... Submissions Open Until the 21st of Next Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The National Library for Disabled Persons is accepting submissions for the "15th Reading Reflection Contest for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities" from the 26th of this month until July 21st.

Eligible participants are children and adolescents with disabilities enrolled in special and general schools nationwide, from elementary to high school levels. Participants may freely select the books they wish to read. The contest is divided into a total of eight categories based on age group (elementary and middle/high school) and type of disability (visual, hearing, physical, developmental disabilities).

Awards will be given in two categories: "Reading Reflection" and "Outstanding School." In the "Reading Reflection" category, a total of 58 winners will be selected, including grand prize winners (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award) for both elementary and middle/high school divisions, as well as excellence and merit awards (Director of the National Library for Disabled Persons Award). In the "Outstanding School" category, one school per disability type will be selected, totaling four schools (Director of the National Library for Disabled Persons Award).

The National Library for Disabled Persons has been holding this reading reflection contest annually since 2008 to encourage reading activities among children and adolescents with disabilities. A library official stated, "We hope that the process of preparing for this contest will give children and adolescents with disabilities a sense of accomplishment and serve as an opportunity to develop interest in reading books across various fields."

The final winners will be announced on September 6th, and detailed information about the contest can be found on the National Library for Disabled Persons website.
