KT Launches Gold Number Lottery Event for First Half of the Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] KT announced that it will start the Gold Number lottery event for the first half of this year from the 26th until the 8th of next month.

Gold Numbers are highly preferred phone numbers that are easy to identify by the last 4 digits of a mobile phone number. According to government policy, they are provided twice a year through a lottery. The types of phone numbers eligible for the lottery include AAAA, 000A, A000, AA00, 00AA, ABAB, ABCD, ABCD-ABCD, and numbers with specific meanings (such as 1004, 7942), totaling 5,000 numbers.

Each person can apply for up to 3 numbers in the lottery. The Gold Number lottery is conducted transparently with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA). Gold Numbers cannot be transferred to others, and customers who are currently using a Gold Number or have won a Gold Number within the past year are restricted from applying.
