Correction Measures Including Encouraging Voluntary Restoration Upon Detection of Illegal Activities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that from the 25th until the end of June, it will conduct special crackdowns and inspections to prevent illegal activities within the development-restricted zone.
The special inspection will prioritize two of the six myeon (townships), Daejeon-myeon and Gasamunhak-myeon, focusing on management status inspections and crackdowns on illegal activities within the development-restricted zone. The inspection team consists of six members: four county officials and two myeon administrative officers.
The main targets for inspection and crackdown include unauthorized construction, extension, reconstruction, or change of use of buildings without permission under the "Special Measures Act on the Designation and Management of Development-Restricted Areas," unauthorized landform changes, cutting down of trees, storage of goods, and other acts that damage the development-restricted zone.
During the crackdown period, the county will strengthen patrols and inspections for prevention. Illegal activities detected will be ordered to be restored to their original state, and if not complied with, enforcement fines will be imposed and cases will be reported to judicial authorities according to relevant laws.
A county official stated, “We will organize special inspection teams every quarter to continuously crack down on illegal activities within the development-restricted zone. We will do our best to minimize damage to the development-restricted zone and eradicate illegal activities through swift and strict measures.”
