[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Wooseok] U.S. President Joe Biden's approval rating has dropped to 36%, marking another record low.
According to a poll conducted by Reuters and the polling firm IPSOS from the 23rd to 24th, surveying 1,500 adults across the United States, President Biden's approval rating for his administration stood at 36%.
This is the lowest approval rating since his inauguration in January last year. President Biden has maintained an approval rating below 50% since August last year.
The percentage of respondents who disapprove of President Biden's administration was 59%, surpassing the approval rating by approximately 23%.
Within the current ruling party, the Democratic Party, the approval rating was 72%, while within the opposition Republican Party, it was 10%.
Reuters reported that based on the poll results, the Democratic Party may fail to maintain a majority in at least one chamber of Congress in the upcoming November 8 midterm elections.
Polling firm Gallup also forecasted through a separate survey that the likelihood of a dramatic improvement in the U.S. economy before the midterm elections is low, which could pose a challenge for the Democratic Party in rallying its supporters.
