Namwon-si Launches 'Child and Women Violence Prevention Campaign'

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, announced on the 25th that it conducted a 'Child and Women Violence Prevention Campaign' around Dongnim-ro on the 24th in celebration of Family Month in May, in collaboration with the Child and Women Safety Regional Coalition.

The campaign, attended by about 15 members of the Child and Women Safety Regional Coalition, distributed leaflets to promote the prevention of crimes against children and women, such as sexual violence, domestic violence, and child abuse.

A representative of the Child and Women Safety Regional Coalition said, "We hope this campaign will raise citizens' awareness of preventing violence against children and women," adding, "We hope the city becomes a place where children and women can live healthily and safely without violence."

Meanwhile, the Namwon City Child and Women Safety Regional Coalition is composed of 12 organizations, including Namwon City, Namwon YWCA Integrated Counseling Center, Namwon Police Station, Namwon Probation Center, Namwon Office of Education, and Namwon Child Protection Agency.

They also conduct ongoing violence prevention promotions and education to raise awareness of the seriousness of various types of violence and child abuse and to foster consensus.
