"Creating Goheung as the No.1 City for Filial Administration That Cares Well for Seniors"
Expansion of Senior Job Programs, Supply of Filial Housing, Distribution of Dentures and Implants, Public Laundry Service for Bedding, etc.
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gong Young-min, the Democratic Party candidate for Goheung County Governor, announced on the 25th the four major pledges of ‘Filial Administration Goheung,’ stating, “I will make Goheung the number one city in filial administration that takes good care of the elderly.”
Candidate Gong proposed ▲expanding job projects for the elderly ▲expanding housing stability projects for the elderly ▲expanding health and medical services for the elderly ▲expanding visiting filial administration services for the elderly.
Candidate Gong emphasized, “To create Goheung where any elderly person who wants to work can work, efforts at the county level to create jobs for the elderly are important,” and presented measures such as ▲expanding public job projects for the elderly ▲strengthening consultations with local business officials to create elderly jobs in the private sector ▲attracting companies and fostering village enterprises to create elderly jobs.
Next, to ensure housing stability for the elderly, he plans to ▲supply filial houses, which are specialized public rental housing for the elderly, in consultation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, and ▲expand the renovation project for aging rural village houses so that the elderly can live in clean and safe homes.
To expand health and medical services for the elderly, he said he would promote ▲free shingles vaccination ▲distribution of dentures and implants ▲balanced supply of oriental medicine, dental, and physical therapy at public health centers.
Meanwhile, to expand visiting filial administration services, he announced plans to promote ▲public laundry services for bedding such as blankets for the elderly and ▲a hometown love service to check on parents’ well-being.
Candidate Gong Young-min stated, “As of 2019, Goheung County has an elderly population ratio of 40.0%, indicating a large number of elderly residents,” and expressed his determination, saying, “If I become the governor of Goheung County, I will strive to make Goheung a ‘number one city in filial administration’ that provides meticulous job and welfare services necessary for local elderly residents.”
