Jungjingong Takes Initiative to Foster Liquefied Hydrogen Industry in Gangwon Province


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 25th that it signed a business agreement with related organizations in Gangwon Province, including the Gangwon Regional Small and Medium Business Administration, local governments, and universities, to foster cooperation among small and medium venture companies in the liquefied hydrogen industry.


The nine institutions that signed the agreement are SBC, Gangwon Regional Small and Medium Business Administration, Gangwon Technopark, Kangwon National University, Gangneung-Wonju National University, Gangneung City, Donghae City, Samcheok City, and Pyeongchang County.


The nine institutions agreed to join forces to focus on nurturing small and medium venture companies related to the liquefied hydrogen industry regulatory free zone to promote the growth of regional industries and revitalize the local economy in Gangwon Province. They will strengthen cooperation in areas such as ▲building cooperative networks ▲enhancing technological development capabilities ▲improving manufacturing innovation productivity.


This agreement is part of a regional core industry growth promotion project being promoted through collaboration among SBC’s Gangwon Regional Headquarters, Gangwon Yeongdong Branch, and Global Leadership Training Institute. SBC is implementing specialized projects nationwide to foster regional industries to promote balanced national development.


Chairman Kim Hak-do emphasized, "The hydrogen industry is a field that is just beginning to emerge, and active roles from the government, local governments, and related organizations are necessary to nurture small and medium venture companies in this field. Taking this agreement as an opportunity, we will continue to expand cooperation with related organizations so that liquefied hydrogen companies in Gangwon Province can achieve technological advancement and commercialization and grow into global companies."
