[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 25th that, together with the Ministry of Science and ICT, it is recruiting applicants for the 'K-Shield Junior 8th Training Program' to cultivate cyber security professionals ready for practical work until the 3rd of next month.
KISA plans to operate an improved Season 2 training program by integrating the previous courses, which were divided into 'Security Incident Analysis and Response' and 'Information Security Management Diagnosis,' into a single 'Cyber Security Practical Workforce Training' course to better meet the workforce demand in the information security field.
Through this, trainees will first receive common education covering essential basic knowledge required for advanced courses, and then choose specialized advanced training according to their interested job roles. The specialized advanced training consists of six job categories demanded in the information security job market: penetration testing, incident response, information security consulting, security monitoring and operations, personal information protection technology, and cloud operations.
Anyone who has graduated from high school, is a final-year university student, or an unemployed graduate can apply. Selected trainees will undergo a total of 200 hours of training, with 150 hours of common education and 50 hours of advanced training per cohort.
